Greetings,

I am 71yrs young and full of life &  sail a Hartley Queenslander fero cement yacht  "Gandalf" (35ft) out of New Zealand's southern most port of Bluff.

Sailing was something I took up later in life after years on merchant ships, commercial fishing boats etc.

Learned to sail on trailer yachts, sailing dinghies etc.. have done several trips crewing on yachts blue water sailing , south to the sub antartic Auckland Islands, east to the Chatham Islands and  up in Samoa & Fiji as well as many coastal voyages..

I have had a hip replacement wore it out and had a revision of that in Jan/08 but that has never held me back from anything I have wanted to do.....wife Helen is not a yachtee or boatee any thing more than 2 inches shorter than the "queen Mary" and she doesn't want to know abouy it  ..lol

Usual cruising areas are Stewart Island 20 miles across the imfamous Foveaux Strait and to the Fiordland Sounds on the southern SW corner of NZ south island
